Cleaning is a treatment done to remove stains, plaque and tartar from teeth and finishes with a polishing.  Fillings are made of several different kinds of materials. Some fillings are amalgams (silver), while others are composites (white fillings), porcelain or gold. After the decay has been removed from a tooth, dentist will place the filling in the tooth, harden it and adjust it to your bite.  Veneers are porcelain shells applied to the front of the tooth. Veneers are used to restore teeth that have been chipped, gapped or stained.  Dentures are artificial and removable replacements for missing teeth. Complete dentures are a replacement for all teeth and are custom fitted for each individual patient. Partials replace a section of missing teeth. They are fitted in the patient's mouth with clasps. Dentures and partials are intended for patients to improve chewing and speech as well as the cosmetic function of creating a beautiful smile.  There are two methods of bleaching teeth. There is an at-home method, where patients use bleaching strips and there is an method that is performed by the dentist.  Bonding is a restoration process for teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. This process restores the teeth back to their natural appearance.  Bridges are fixed or removable artificial teeth spanning a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch.  Crowns are made from a several different types of materials that strengthen and protect your teeth. There are five types of crowns: a full-porcelain crown, a porcelain fused-to-metal crown, porcelain fused-to-gold, full gold and the all-metal crown.  A root canal treatment is needed when a tooth's pulp, or nerve and blood supply, become infected or inflamed. The tooth must be opened so that the pulp and bacteria can be removed. The empty chamber is then filled with a sealant and a filling.  Dentists extraction is the process of removing teeth. Extractions are usually performed due to cases of impacted wisdom teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause crowding and misalignment of other teeth.
