Dr. Yurfest is known for his expertise in treating adults as well as children. He was a founding member of the Lingual Society (braces behind the teeth) as well as one of the first offices to offer clear braces. His reputation for the most up-to-date treatment continues today, with his award for the top Invisalign Practice.  In 1985, he taught at the prestigious Medical College of Georgia in the department of Orthodontics. In 1989 he helped open the first children’s dental center in Morocco. He became board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics in 1990. Today, Dr. Yurfest continues teaching, writing and working with children as the Director of Orthodontics at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic in Atlanta as well as working in his private practice on West Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta.

The new clear cosmetic braces which are much less obvious will provide the same good results as metal braces. Children five to ten years with tooth and jaw problems are good candidates for early orthodontic/orthopedic treatment. Because children are growing rapidly, orthodontic appliances can be used to correct jaw size and shape which will provide a good foundation and space for the permanent teeth.
